10 smart questions organizations ask before saying "yes" to ACM.

Can ACM really recover more than what you're already recovering?

Good question. The easiest way to find out is to chat with an ACM expert, who will ask a few questions about your existing process and see if there is a fit. We use your fleet size and the items you’re currently recovering to estimate how much recovery you might be leaving behind on your not at fault claims.

How do ACM's services differ from subrogation?

Subrogation typically involves the insurance company seeking reimbursement for the costs it paid out, while damage recovery involves the victim directly (or indirectly through an outsourced vendor) seeking compensation for their losses from the at-fault party.

ACM specializes in damage recovery services as an outsourced partner to our clients. And because ACM is not an insurance carrier, ACM’s services are damage recovery, not subrogation.

How is what ACM does different from what I'm currently doing?

Well, it depends on what you’re currently doing.

Typically, our clients use either an in-house team or a TPA to process their claims. Here’s how each of these scenarios differs compared to ACM:

  • The In-House Team: Working not-at-fault claims can be a tedious and time-consuming process. With ACM, your in-house team is freed up to focus on other high impact projects for your organization.
  • TPAs: TPAs provide a “full-stack” solution, covering at-fault and not-at-fault claims. But your TPA may charge you 20-25% to recover Physical Damage. Additionally, TPAs typically don’t recover Loss of Use (LOU), Loss of Revenue (LOR), diminution of value (DV) or the other claim line items of loss ACM specializes in recovering.

Here’s the thing:

ACM doesn’t replace your in-house team or your TPA.

Instead, we free them up to focus on what they do best. Likewise, we focus on what we do best - not-at-fault claims.

And perhaps the biggest difference between ACM and your in-house team or TPA? We’re 100% performance-based. We don’t get paid unless you get paid.

How does ACM get paid? Is there a cost for the trial? For onboarding? After the trial, what's the cost?

You’ll never write us a check - not for processing claims, onboarding, systems, or ongoing support. We’re 100% performance-based. And we don’t charge a direct service fee.

Bottom line: You pay a percentage of the recovery above Physical Damage, and we collect it out of the proceeds so there is no bill or invoice sent to you.

How does ACM typically work with TPAs?

We know your TPA plays a critical role in your claims process - we work alongside TPAs all the time. There are several ways we can work with your TPA, but here’s how we recommend the process starts:

  1. The ACM team reviews your dormant and closed claims.
  2. We’ll file for any line items of loss your TPA left behind.
  3. In ~60 days, you’ll get the cheques for the extra recovery we find.

This way, you can see how we work without changing the way you work with your TPA.

We're not paying these line items out. Why should we recover them?

It’s normal that you’re not paying these line items out.

Most fleet operators don’t know that when you’re involved in an accident you didn’t cause, you’re entitled to additional line items of loss. Because most fleet operators don’t know this, they’re not asking you to pay these line items out.

Our two cents:

You shouldn’t miss out on recovery you’re entitled to just because someone else doesn’t know what they’re entitled to.

How involved do we need to be?

Your level of involvement depends on the state of your current claims documentation. (Your ACM team can help ensure you have everything you need.)

Generally speaking, your ACM team will give you a checklist of information to provide, so we have what we need to successfully work your claim. Once we have the files we need to work your claim, there’s not much involvement needed.

Will working with ACM delay the speed at which we can repair our vehicles?

No, our work shouldn’t delay the speed of repair.

With ACM, you get access to an on-site appraisal service. When needed, an appraisal can typically be finished within 48 hours.

If you need to repair your vehicle in less than 48 hours, let us know. We can work together to find a solution.

What about our fleet's at-fault collisions?

We’re not-at-fault experts. We don’t work at-fault collision claims.

As experts, you get a team that’s practiced at knowing our opposition and the preparation required to help you win.

What's the hurry - can't I submit my old claims in a few months?

We hear this all the time - our clients are busy people.

Truth is, it will cost you to wait.

Right now, your closed not-at-fault claims are inching towards your state statute. Once your closed claims fall outside your state statute of limitations, the recovery you should receive - and are legally entitled to - will be gone forever.

The best way to ensure you don’t lose money to your state statute is by giving us your closed claims. Here’s how it works:

  1. Send us a handful of old, closed claims.
  2. Get your claims analyzed by our team of experts, free of charge.
  3. If our team finds line items of loss you’re eligible for but haven’t claimed, we’ll work the claim on your behalf.
  4. If we recover on your behalf, you’ll get a check and we may receive a performance-based kickback.
  5. If we can’t recover anything for you, nothing happens. You don’t get paid and we don’t get paid.

Bottom line: it can pay off to send us your closed not-at-fault claims now... before the statute of limitations ends.
